This building is one of the finest buildings in the locality. It was built in 1905 to the designs of Sydney R J Smith in Neo-Classical style. It was a gift to the community by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. The building is listed grade 2 (LBS number 398687). Until 2010 it was also home to Greenwich Community College’s Meridian Music Centre. It was refurbished in that year.
