The houses in Islington Road display the characteristic stone facings and prominent, upper and lower bay-window surrounds that can be seen throughout the older suburbs of Bristol. Here, in Bedminster, many properties would have been rented to employees of the tobacco manufacturers and related industries which dominated the area. Now, they are increasingly sought by inner city commuters.
