At the time of the First World War the Corporation of Bristol had just completed the Bristol North Baths so this structure was put at the disposal of the Ministry of Munitions and used as an instrumental factory in which relays of workers - nearly all young women - were taught to perform various tasks so that when they moved to the actual workshops they would be familiar with the work and implements. In 1925 the official guide book boasted of the Bristol North Corporation Bathing Establishment being; 'a fine one' and having 'an aeration and filtration plant installed.' Now the Baths are closed and the future seems to be as a library and health centre complex. (about-bristol.co.uk) http://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-379606-bristol-north-baths-bristol
