The church of St John the Baptist at Okewood, also known as Oakwood, sits at the end of a lane in the middle of a wood, a long way from any village; access from the road is by dropping down into the valley of a little brook, crossing the footbridge and climbing the other side. The forest is invading the churchyard at the edges.
