Ahead can be seen the new cut bearing to the right, not fully watered yet. The current Google satellite images still show the canal filled in following its abandonment in 1939. Note that reference to earlier maps shows the canal formerly went straight ahead (alongside Hanbury Road). At the end of the foreground reed bed on the left, follow the line between the hedges, left of the three poplar trees on the skyline.
