An early-C19th stuccoed house with a full-height bow and late-C19th conservatory on the right. It was reduced in size after bomb damage during the war. Grade II listed. The house and grounds, now a public park, were bought by Croydon Corporation in 1926. Plaques on the house record previous occupants, Arthur Anderson, joint founder of P & O and, bizarrely, M.P. for the Shetland Islands (presumably he didn't visit very often), and Frederick Nettlefold, local philanthropist and industrialist whose company cornered the market in wood screws.
