This pub in Armoury Way stands right on the bank of the River Wandle, in an area where there were once wharves. My guess is that the name, 'The Crane', lasted for well over a century, a fitting reminder of the history of the place. But much has changed around here in recent years - not least, the Young family has sold its brand name and the Ram Brewery site is to be redeveloped. For the pub as it was, see: Image
