Hathorn, Davey & Co Ltd tandem compound rotative pumping engine, No. 6118 of 1907. This is some 105' long. At this end are the two quadrants that operated the deep well pumps and in the far distance can be seen the air vessels on the double acting force pumps that pumped to supply. In the middle is the actual steam engine and the vertical rod going down through the floor is the air pump rod on the end of the crankshaft. The engine developed 223 indicated horsepower at 18 rpm. The 24' diameter flywheel is just visible. Between the pump quadrants is a horizontal duplex John H Wilson steam winch that was used for work in the well.
