Melverley Farm is a 19 hectare estate now managed by Shropshire Wildlife Trust. Designated an SSSI, its mixture of hayfields and pasture have always been farmed using traditional methods. This shot of an undulating mown hay meadow shows the small field size and thick hedgerows with many mature trees, which mask rounded ditches. The ridges visible may be the remains of an ancient ridge-and-furrow pattern. For more information: http://www.english-nature.org.uk/citation/citation_photo/2000023.pdf
