St Thomas' Parish Church was opened in 1825. It is in the process of restoration and over the last few years the dedicated congregation have raised funds of over £300,000 to renew the roof, and restore the tower and cupola and clock faces. Future plans include modification of the interior; so that, as well as continuing as a Parish Church, it will be used as a venue for concerts and recitals.
