Viewed from the south. Cogan is on the Vale of Glamorgan Line 4 kilometres south of Cardiff Central station. From Mondays-Fridays there are 3 trains per hour to Barry Island and an hourly service to Bridgend via Rhoose. In the opposite direction, the frequency to Cardiff Central is every 15 minutes. Most of these continue to either Aberdare or Merthyr Tydfil.
