This shows the junction with Goldthorn Hill. The remaining sections of Phoenix Rise, currently being demolished, can be seen in the distance about five hundred metres to the north-north-east. Goldthorn Park Estate was built in the 1920s and consisted of 1,500-2,000 houses, built in a setting of woods and scattered spinneys.
