On the Saturday of the August Bank Holiday the Yorkshire Coast Group of the Long Distance Walkers' Association holds a 26-mile walk from here called the Smugglers Trod. The last checkpoint before the finish is at the Dock at the bottom of Robin Hood's Bay and most of the helpers dress as wenches and pirates.
