Gayles residents obviously don't feel the need to name their streets after the places to which they lead, famous former residents, battles in which they fell, or any of the more traditional forms. With an almost American lack of imagination, we have West Street, Middle Street, East Street and Little Lane. West Street sports a green, mainly used for parking cars, and this group of houses overlook the green, facing west.
