Chalgrove Mill Flood Warning

Right on the northern edge of this square, the Mill is now a house, but the mill wheel is still in position in the shadows on the right of this shot, and the mill stream runs between the lawn and the green kiosk. The risk of flooding from the stream is why the kiosk is there. Installed and operated by the Environment Agency, it houses water level monitoring equipment which gives early warning of dangerously high levels in the stream. A level sensor is in the metal tube to the left of the kiosk, and the gauge board provides a visual reference.
