Stairway into tunnel

Victoria tunnel was built between 1839-42, opened 7 April 1842 and closed in 1860. During WWII the tunnel was outfitted as an air raid shelter and several new entrances were built. This entrance is at Crawhall Road, Shieldfield, Byker.
