Out of courtesy to the staff of Belvoir Castle (who were extraordinarily kind to us) I should point out that this building stands in a part of the grounds not normally open to the public. I happened to be visiting with a friend who uses a wheelchair, and on leaving we were directed this way. The shot was taken through the rainy windscreen of my car. I was at first puzzled by this building, but Pevsner has this to say: 'Also in the grounds the DAIRY with a two-storeyed octagonal centre and one-storeyed pavilions'. That's got to be it. (Pevsner, 'The Buildings of England:Leicestershire and Rutland').
