The Wirral Stone, near Willaston

This stone is reputed to mark the centre of the Wirral Hundred. A hundred is simply a geographical area to break up a larger area. The stone is also believed to be the origin of the place name Willaston. It is located at the junction of the B5151 and the A540 (Chester High Road).
