Located on the corner of Ann Moss Way, the gatehouse is the one of only two buildings surviving from the hospital which closed in 1985. The blue plaque refers to the birth of Sir Michael Caine, born Maurice Joseph Micklewhite in the charity wing of St.Olave's on 14th March 1933. Sir Michael Caine is a highly regarded film actor.
