This property displays a blue plaque as the first headquarters of the Ripponden Co-operative Society. This was formed at the Holroyd Arms (now the Honest Lawyer, but better known as The Queen) on 10th November 1832,some 12 years before the Rochdale Pioneers opened their store at Toad Lane Rochdale.
