The field through the stile is known as Carver Fields; a notice says it is owned by Sheffield West Methodist Circcuit and managed By Rivelin Valley Conservation Group. In the valley between Hagg Lane and the suburbs opposite are the A57 road, which goes from Sheffield over the Snake Pass, and the River Rivelin.
