A wooden walkway crosses a section of muddy ground, on the route through a narrow strip of undeveloped land used as a nature trail, between the Pilton Vale and Claremont housing estates on the west side and the A4042 on the east side. A small stream flows through this area. It is shown on the Ordnance Survey map as a coll, which David Hawgood informs me is short for collector drain.
