This wetland area was created by flooding about seven hectares of farmland in 1996. There is a bird hide in which it is recorded that people have spotted all manner of exotic birds. Not being birdwatchers, whenever my father and I visit we espy nothing but indeterminate small brown birds, Canada geese, and the odd moorhen. On this occasion we spotted lots of indeterminate small brown birds, lots of Canada geese and a moorhen.
