Next to each other in the centre of Bampton, The Talbot is to the left of the small red brick building, and The Romany to the right. The Talbot sign states 'The Talbot Hotel, Bampton in the Bush'. This was the previous name of Bampton, when, until around 1850 it stood in the centre of a large area of common land. More at http://www.cotswolds.info/places/bampton.shtml
