The term 'grasscrete' will be unfamiliar to most but the feature is a common one. Grasscrete is a grid-form structure of concrete with pockets of earth in which grass grows in the spaces between. Its purpose is to allow heavy use with the concrete taking the wear and the grass growing relatively unharmed. Its most common use is to create car parking areas of green appearance, as here.
