Scene in yard outside the Shed (roundhouse); ex-Great Western Depot south of Wrexham Exchange station in the triangle at the junction of the main line to Shrewsbury and branch to Rhos. Coded 84J by BR, it had an allocation of 53 locomotives (39 tank engines) in 1950, which was largely intact when this photograph was taken in 1966 - modernization having not yet reached the NE Wales mineral lines; three 0-6-0 Pannier tanks feature, but a BR Standard 2-6-0 is visible inside. The Depot lasted until 5/6/67.
