Pub at the corner of Oakwood Avenue and Bashley Common Road; "yaffle" is a southern name for green woodpecker. Internally, straight back bar, with two rooms: drinking to left, eating to right. TV, slot machines, darts, garden. Cask ale on offer at my visit: Jennings Cumberland. Closed weekday lunchtimes.
