Founded in 1873, Hither Green Cemetery is now home to one of the largest flocks of ring-necked parakeets in London. It also sadly contains the mass grave of 33 victims of the bombing of Sandhurst Road School in 1943. A total of 38 children and six members of staff were killed in the attack on this Catford school.
