Headwaters of the River Gade

In August 2010 the headwaters of the River Gade are here just North of Great Gaddesden. The River bed is dry above this point. Below the bridge from which this photo was taken the river flows into a large reed bed in Great Gaddesden. I have never known the river to be dry below that point. Strange to think that this stream reaches the Thames (via the River Colne) at Staines and flows all through London.
