This is the north side of this very plain church, largely dating from 1812, but with a High Victorian chancel. When I was a child in the 1950s, the churchyard was a wildly overgrown, neglected and rather spooky playground for naughty boys, but it is now landscaped and well maintained. Most of the gravestones have gone, but some of the finer 18th- and early 19th-century slate headstones have been kept, most laid flat, as here.
