As with many towns the size of Frome, shoplifting is a reoccurring issue that impacts businesses and the community. Frome Neighbourhood Policing Team continue to work with retailers, security officers and the Town Council, to encourage reporting and reduce the amount of shop theft by dealing proactively with those that engage with shoplifting.

Frome Neighbourhood Policing Team will be looking for all opportunities within town centre to engage with the community, offer crime prevention and safety advice.

Frome Neighbourhood officers have been patrolling and engaging with businesses, along with support from officers from neighbouring stations, which has enabled greater coverage for the Town Centre.
We continue to support local businesses with CCTV enquiries and identification of offenders.

Frome neighbourhood team are aware of recent reports of youths engaging in anti-social behaviour in the Welshmill and Spring Road area.

This behaviour is unacceptable and causes alarm and distress to residents.

The local Neighbourhood Team is actively collating CCTV evidence and working to identify those responsible.

We are liaising with Education partners to help identify individuals from CCTV footage.

Any youths identified will be dealt with robustly.

Frome Neighbourhood Team, have been liaising with our local schools to identify youths that have been involved with Anti Social Behaviour in our local area. Youths have been identified and education has been delivered to those responsible. We will continue to work with our communities and schools to reduce Anti Social Behaviour in our communities.

Frome Neighbourhood Team have been issuing Section 35 notices to youths involved in Anti Social Behaviour in the Town Centre, this enables us to remove them and prevent them from re-entering the location for 24 / 48 hours. We have also been working with our Anti Social Behaviour Team who have assisted us in issuing a CPW Community Protection Warning and ABC Acceptable Behaviour Contract, which enables us to put restrictions on the individuals that have been issued with one. These actions have been really successful, with no further issues reported regarding these young people.

The Frome Neighbourhood Policing Team has recently seen an increase in graffiti across the town and is asking for your support in helping us tackle the issue. Graffiti is defined as any painting, writing, marking or defacing of property without the owner’s permission, and can include tags, scribbles, slogans, political messages, advertising, cartoons and other artistic creations.

We encourage members of the public to report any instances of illegal graffiti to help us identify patterns and take appropriate action. When reporting, please include the exact location, an image of the graffiti, and the property owner’s details if the report is being made on their behalf. Your information helps us build a clearer picture and work with partners to keep Frome a safe and tidy place for everyone.

Over the last few months, we have received reports of anti-social behaviour in the Frome area. We understand the impact this can have on local residents and businesses and are working with partner agencies to address the issues identified. We would encourage anyone who witnesses anti-social behaviour to report it to the police, as information from the community helps us identify those responsible and target our patrols effectively.
