The lodge is by the north gate from Beckett Street. Non-conformists were buried in the north half of the cemetery, opened in 1845. Beyond the gate, across Beckett St, you can see the building of the Thackray Medical Museum, once the Leeds Workhouse, later part of St James's Hospital.
