The Urdd http://www.urdd.org/ is the major Welsh youth organisation. They run countless local groups, offer courses, trips and holidays to their members and organise an annual eisteddfod where pupils from most Welsh schools compete in a variety of subjects including performing arts, science and sports. They operate four gwersylloedd or centres (literally, 'camps') for residential activities - at Glan-llyn on Llyn Tegid, Pentre Ifan in Pembrokeshire, at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff and here at Llangrannog. At Llangrannog, the Urdd also operates a dry ski slope http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2017782 which can be used by the general public for a fee.
