This country park was opened in 1990 in a disused quarry. This provided the stone for the breakwater, construction of which started in 1848, and was subsequently used to manufacture heat-resistant bricks from the silica-rich rock. This view shows 2 wheelsets from railway wagons, which were manufactured in 1872 and 1891. These form an exhibit in the old stone-crushing building.
