Opening day of the 2010/11 Premier League and Wigan are at home to Blackpool. DW being the initials of Wigan's owner - Dave Whelan. Following a successful football career with Blackburn and Crewe, Dave Whelan opened a chain of Grocery Discount Stores in the North-West and then made a lot money by selling them to rivals Morrison's. The stand at the far end is the South Stand.
