The foundation stone of the new St. Boniface’s Church was laid by Cardinal Godfrey, the Archbishop of Westminster, on the 7th November 1959. On the first Sunday of October 1960, the rebuilding was completed. It replaced a church from 1875 destroyed in 1940 by wartime bombing.
