8am on Doric Way at Euston and a line up of gleaming brand new bicycles for hire await their first customers on the first day of Transport for London's cycle hire scheme. Similar cycle racks have appeared this summer across central London and TfL hope the scheme will be as successful as one already operating in Paris. The bicycles have been nicknamed 'Boris Bikes' after London's mayor, Boris Johnson.
