Viewed from the new pedestrian and cyclist bridge. The river Severn flows over a weir on the left of the island to keep the Severn navigable through Worcester City. The locks for boat traffic are different sizes: the narrower right-hand lock will be much quicker and easier to operate and will cater for most boats. Worcester Cathedral stands proud in the distance on the right whilst the spire known as the Glover's Needle competes for height to its left.
