A London Waterloo bound South West Trains service pulls out of Martins Heron railway station under the B3430 New Forest Ride road bridge. In order to avoid being inundated with e-mails from gricers the trailing unit number, just discernible on the somewhat filthy rear end of the train, is 8028. Just trying to find out more about these trains on the internet it appears they are 458 Series and have had a brief and chequered history, with many units being unavailable for service for long periods of time since their introduction in 2000. This appears to be partially to do with non-compliance with the Railway Vehicle Accessibility Regulations part of the Disability Discrimination Act of 2005.
