The Palace Theatre was built in 1913, and designed by Bertie Crewe, who specialised in theatres and cinemas. In 2005-06 it was restored, and the glazed foyer, and staircase with curved roofs was added. The theatre, like many others, has had a chequered career, having at various times been a cinema, a dance hall, a roller skating rink and a bingo hall. Its ownership has also changed several times over the years, but it is now owned by Redditch Council. It is unusual in that its original neo-classical auditorium is still intact. Image
