One of Edinburgh's great historic houses, a 16thC tower-house belonging to the Napier family, who produced three Provosts of Edinburgh and John Napier, the inventor of logarithms and the decimal point. It is now encased by the concrete surroundings of Napier University, but will no doubt outlive them.
