Colne Cricket Club was formed in 1830, and is therefore the oldest club in the Lancashire League, and among the oldest in Lancashire. The first games were played on the Horsfield, the same field that is used today. By 1890 the club was one of the foremost in East Lancashire, and since then has been a continuous member of the first and best of the cricket leagues - the Lancashire League. https://web.archive.org/web/20110708175630/http://www.colnecc.com/history.asp?mid=2 http://www.colnecc.com/
