Ferry Lane is now a quiet dead end but in the past has been the hub of two forms of transport. As the name of the lane indicates a ferry once crossed the River Nene here and later the Wisbech to Sutton Bridge railway line ran alongside the fence and to the right of the red brick house now called The Old Ferry Station House
