The small pond is next to the road. It is so small that it is almost imperceptible on the maps. It can't be more than 500mm deep yet contains a flourishing growth of Nymphaeaceae and a relatively large population of what appear to be goldfish. Most of these were the size you find in petshops but in amongst them was this quite big fish. It has barbels either side of its mouth which makes me think it isn't a carp but I'm no expert.
