Owing to a legal dispute (presumably amongst members of the same family) there are several catering establishments claiming the name "Nardini's". This fine example of Art Deco was closed for six years and in danger of becoming derelict (Image Image) but was restored and reopened in 2008. Italian families are prominent in the catering trade in many of the far-flung corners of the British Isles. On my last visit to Italy, in Albiano, Tuscany, I met a returned emigrant who had lived and worked for many years in Largs. The nearby town of Barga describes itself as the "most Scottish town in Italy" and 60% of the population have relatives living in Scotland!
