The name of the house on Darp Lane which was known as Luxford Farm until the first part of the 20th century when it became known as its current name. Lime Barnett itself has much older origin dating back to the 14th century and was the name of the field on which the original farm was built with the second word seemingly being a derivation of 'berner' or burner, therefore giving an indication that this was a field where lime burning occurred. The dogs in the garden were giving me a noisy welcome.
