Car 111 is in the Stagecoach livery. There was a time when the tramway, and all the buses, were going to be in public ownership, and operated as an integrated transport system. The Thatcher and Major governments saw that idea off in very short order, and now, bus competes with bus, bus competes with tram, fares are too high to attract many out of their cars, etc.... But at least there is a well-used park-and-ride system at the outer tram termini.
