One of two Anglo-Saxon Churches serving the now, largely deserted village of Bywell. The tower and west wall of the nave are Saxon in date with the remainder largely C13th and restored in 1871 http://www.keystothepast.info/article/10339/Site-Details?PRN=N10062 The church is no longer used for regular worship and is cared for by The Churches Conservation Trust http://www.visitchurches.org.uk/
