Field Marshal Keith

This statue of Field Marshal Keith stands outside the Town House in the centre of Peterhead. Keith was born at Inverugie Castle and led a very colourful life which saw him at various times fighting for the Jacobites and the Spanish, Russian and Prussian armies. He was eventually killed in action at the Battle of Hochkirch in 1758. This statue was erected in 1868.
