A long steep hill down from the junction shown in Image into the King's Cliff Stream valley, and seen here approaching Image The first edition of the OS 6" map shows Shellthorn as a named locality here, perhaps with the focus of the congregational chapel further up the hill shown in Image, but so strung out is the "hamlet" that the constituent houses can scarcely be seen from one other.
